Opel have had a long and mutually productive relationship with the GPA, including sponsoring the GPA Awards. The Opel Kit for Clubs scheme grew out of this relationship and is based on a simple but powerful concept - anyone who test-drives or buys an Opel is assigned points which they are able to donate to their chosen local GAA club. The club can then redeem these points against kit.

Although the scheme had been running for a year or so before the site launch, it was poorly designed and the system was over-complex, involving multiple third parties which were not integrated with each other leading to confusion and inefficiencies.

The purpose of the new website is to make the system simple and efficient, enabling all aspects of the process to be managed through the site and minimising the need for administration.
